Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

Victory also means Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.

Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to create a third set.

He saved four initial chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
